About Harmonee Brown
Have you ever had to overcome anything in life? I am going to explain to you how I overcame challenges that made me stronger, determined, and a leader. My name is Harmonee Brown. At an early age I was diagnosed with ADHD, which contributed to my learning disability in school. I was determined not to let this hinder my education. With God’s help and strong family support system, I was able to accomplish things. Today, I am proud to say that I recently graduated from Communication Media Arts High School. I ranked 15th in my graduating class. While at CMA I received various awards including Honor Roll, Principal’s Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, Detroit Public School Community District Perfect Attendance, and a recent inductee of the National Honor’s Society. I was active within my school community. I am member of Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), 2-year varsity cheerleader, student ambassador, Wayne State University Trio Program, donated can goods to our annual Thanksgiving Community Can Drive, host for our annual Career Day, and participated in the American Red Cross Blood Drive. I volunteer with the Charles Wright Academy cheer team. I also volunteer with Detroit 313 Cheer Program. Participated in the National MS Walk Detroit with Coach Latrice Wooten- Mitchell. Donated gifts through Adopt-A- Family. I was a Cheer Ambassador with The Bling Effect Foundation. I attend Russell Street Missionary Baptist Church where I am an active member of the Youth Usher Board and Youth Choir. I volunteered when DALO (Deacon Owens) was catering at church. I also volunteered when the youth group planted flowers at the church. In the fall of 2025, I plan to attend Grand Valley State University. I would like to pursue a degree in nursing specializing in pediatrics. This scholarship will help support future studies and overall academic growth.
